Summary:
DropBox is the application that offers you a more simple file-sharing way than networking.
After installing it, DropBox is in fact a folder on your computer that you can fill with content for sharing by simply drag-n-drop.
But it has limited size though. You cannot fill it with more than 2GB unless you pay.
At installation, you are asked to make your own online account. This allows you to access your files from another computer. Sharing folders on your account is easy; after you add them to Drop Box they are instantly available and any of your friends can have access to them, even if they are not using the same operating system. When someone joins one of the shared folders, it appears inside their account; in such moments, the two computers syncs automatically. Drop Box has versions available also for iPhone, iPad, Android and BlackBerry, so you can sync mobile devices too.
Online file sharing is also secure with Drop Box, because you can choose the computers that can have access to your folders.
So, with DropBox you have the option to link with any device you desire in just few steps and you have access to your account content no matter where you are. It's simple and you don't have to check it every time in order to function. There's no bother at all so far. But this kind of sharing has unfortunately the disadvantage of working slow; uploading takes some time.
