Summary:
FlashGet is a free application that supports HTTP, FTP, BT and eMule protocols and can download with an accelerated speed any files from Internet, even FLV files.
This download manager uses a file-splitting technique that optimizes a transfer and makes the download faster and more stable. Protocols recognition and download acceleration starts automatically, so you don't need to set the program every time. Each link is scanned for viruses and malware.
The interface is nice colored and even though is a bit complicated, you can follow steps intuitively. I appreciate the file management; each file is filtered on category, such as "movie", "software" and "torrent". You can choose the category when the download is assigned.
You can also set the program to use IE Proxy. For FireFox integration you need to install a FireFox extension.
FlashGet is a flexible download manager and it does its job almost by itself; it has also a batch downloader to help you saving your time, but it would have been better if a scheduler were integrated.
